Built on the Rock Farm raises Nigerian dwarf goats in Laporte, Minnesota, in the lakes region of north-central Minnesota roughly an hour north of Brainerd. The farm is owned and operated by Brent and Brandi Petersen.

The program grew out of a personal need: the Petersen family has a rare genetic immune disorder that makes them highly sensitive to chemical processing in commercial foods, so they turned to raising their own dairy animals. That origin shapes nearly every husbandry decision on the farm. The goats are fed organic and non-GMO feed and alfalfa pellets, and natural treatments are used whenever conventional options can be avoided.

Herd health is the farm's stated top priority. All animals are tested annually for CAE, CL, and Johnes disease, and strict biosecurity is maintained on the property. The breeding focus is squarely on milk production paired with correct udder structure, and foundation stock was sourced from champion show and milk lines to support that goal.
