Bluegem is a Maine coon and ragdoll cattery run by Mary Eagle Horse in Savannah, Georgia, drawing on more than 30 years of experience breeding and showing cats. The cattery sits within easy reach of the Georgia coast, serving families across the greater Savannah area and beyond who are searching for Maine coon kittens in Georgia.

Mary's background runs deep in the show and working-animal world. She began breeding award-winning English mastiffs in 1989, producing what she describes as the top-winning mastiff in the history of the breed, with multiple breed and group wins at Westminster. In 1993 she transitioned to cats, and by 1994 had produced a regional winning champion in the Northeast region. She also spent years working with Therapy Dog International and managed a nonprofit called Kitty Angels, which facilitated animal-assisted therapy for the elderly, disabled, and children.

Bluegem is a registered cattery with both CFA and TICA. Health and temperament are the stated priorities of the program, with all breeding conducted to the standards of those two associations. Within the Maine coon side of the program, Mary has developed a particular specialization in the blue-eyed, polydactyl Maine coon, a rare combination approved for TICA registration. Kittens leave only once they are litter trained and eating independently, and prospective homes are carefully screened to ensure a good match.
