Bauer Farms raises registered highland cattle in Bucyrus, Kansas, situated in the greater Kansas City metro area about 30 miles south of the city. Courtney and Ryan Bauer got their start with highlands in 2015, after Courtney spotted a heifer she couldn't pass up — and their fold has since grown to more than 40 head of registered cattle.

The program is focused on preserving strong breed standards while selectively improving functionality through genetics. Their herd sire, an AHCA-registered Scottish highland bull, carries DH Montgomery, LEA, and Skye High lineage, and all cattle receive vet health checks.
