Barron Hill Alpacas

Barron Hill Alpacas raises both suri and huacaya alpacas on a historic farm in Windsor, Vermont, in the Upper Valley region near the Connecticut River and roughly 30 miles from Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and the Hanover, New Hampshire area. Lesley Bracker has been working with alpacas for roughly two decades, building her own breeding lines from the ground up and competing at shows.

The farm is based on a circa-1820 property, where the herd grazes pastures near a pond. At its peak the herd numbered over 35 animals; today Lesley keeps a more focused group of under 20, prioritizing quality and hands-on care for each animal. Her approach to halter training centers on reading an animal's balance point and building trust gradually through calm, consistent handling.
