Autumn Mist Alpaca Farm, Fiber Mill & Petting Farm

Autumn Mist Alpaca Farm, Fiber Mill & Petting Farm has been raising huacaya alpacas in Prattsburgh, New York since 2003, when owner Jeff Jorritsma first brought alpacas home to the farm. Located in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York, roughly an hour south of Rochester, the operation has grown into a full-service destination for those interested in alpaca for sale in New York as well as fiber processing.

The farm is a member of the Empire Alpaca Association and runs a comprehensive on-site fiber mill that takes raw fleece through the full processing chain. Services extend well beyond breeding and include boarding for both short- and long-term stays, animal leasing, show preparation, and mentoring for new farm startups. Breeding decisions are worked through individually with each customer rather than handled as a one-size-fits-all process.

The herd is made up of huacaya alpacas in a range of colors, and several herdsires reside at the farm during breeding season alongside outside studs. Jeff and Leslie Jorritsma run the farm as a family operation, emphasizing ongoing support for buyers for as long as they own their animals.
