Astarte Kennels Bichons And Barbet
Astarte Kennels Bichons and Barbet raises barbet and bichon frise dogs on Whidbey Island in Greenbank, Washington, about an hour north of Seattle. Dr. Doris Newkirk leads the program alongside her granddaughter and great-grandchildren, making it a four-generation family kennel with deep roots in the show community.
The kennel holds an AKC Breeder with Heart designation and maintains membership in the Barbet Club of America, the Canadian Barbet National Club, and served in a past leadership role with the United Barbet Club. Dogs in the program are genetically tested for hips, knees, and elbows in accordance with national club breeding standards, and the kennel breeds to temperament and breed type. Champions from the program hold titles across multiple registries, including CKC, UKC, and international conformation.
All puppies are born and raised in the home and stay with the kennel until at least ten weeks of age. Prospective families are welcome to visit throughout that period. Barbet for sale in Washington from this program come with a two-year health guarantee, and the kennel retains first rights of return if an owner can no longer keep a dog.
