Alpacas of Indian Point Hills raises huacaya alpacas in Petersburg, Illinois, about 20 miles northwest of Springfield in central Illinois. Bart and Rhonda Leinberger run this family farm with a focus on continuous herd improvement through carefully selected genetics and active participation in the broader alpaca community.

The farm has earned recognition on the show circuit, receiving the 2023 Vintage Breeders Cup for Huacaya Fleece, and their herdsires have taken Judges' Choice, Champion, and Blue Ribbon honors. The Leinbergers have sourced herdsires with notable pedigrees, including rare gray genetics brought in from Ohio farms, and co-own animals with other respected operations across the region. Females are bred to high-quality males with the aim of advancing fleece character — fineness, crimp structure, and density — with each generation.

Beyond raising show and breeding stock huacaya alpacas for sale in Illinois, the farm processes fleece into finished goods and maintains an on-site farm store. The Leinbergers also serve on show committees and the IAOBA Board of Directors, and have built a hands-on support network aimed at helping newer farms get established — an area they identify as a core part of their mission.
