Alpacas From Mars
Alpacas from MaRS has been raising alpacas on its farm in Snohomish, Washington since the fall of 1999, making it one of the longer-running alpaca operations in the Pacific Northwest, roughly an hour north of Seattle. Mark and Rebecca Suryan founded the farm after leaving suburban life behind, and have since grown their herd to around 40 animals across multiple generations bred on the property.
The farm raises huacaya alpacas and holds membership in the Alpaca Owners Association, with all animals registered through AOA using DNA sampling to support sound breeding decisions. A strong emphasis on fiber quality runs throughout the program, and the farm operates a fiber studio that produces handmade goods directly from the herd's fleece. Buyers of alpacas from MaRS also receive hands-on mentorship and basic care training as part of their purchase.
Those looking for alpacas for sale in Washington will find a well-established program here, one where each animal is named after a land formation on Mars and where seven generations of the herd have now been born on-site.
