Alpaca Country Estates, LLC runs a working huacaya alpaca ranch in Terrebonne, Oregon, in the heart of Central Oregon near Redmond and the Cascade Mountains. Owner Nancy Chapel started the program in 2006 with just six huacaya alpacas, and the herd has since grown to well over a thousand animals.

The breeding program centers on uniformity, fineness, soft handle, brightness, and density — qualities that have earned the ranch championship recognition across every color class, including black, grey, brown, fawn, and white. Color champions and reserve championships trace back to a herdsire roster built on well-known bloodlines, including Snowmass Matrix, Snowmass Pure Passion, Patagonia's Lennox, and several Crescent Moon and CCNF lines, among others. The ranch also holds AOA National show honors, including the 2025 AOA National High Point Award for both halter and fleece, as well as a 2021 AOA National Dark Supreme Champion title.

Nancy brings a ranching background with cattle and horses to the operation, and the ranch produces its own hay. A fiber-to-fashion side venture, Magical Strands, grew out of the same property beginning in 2014.
