Almosta Farm Highlands

Almosta Farm Highlands has been raising highland cattle in Magnet, Nebraska since 2002, when Sue Dyke started the herd with a single purebred yearling heifer. Run by Sue and Steve Dyke on 25 acres in northeast Nebraska, the farm sits roughly an hour southwest of Sioux City, Iowa, and has grown into one of the more established sources for highland cattle for sale in Nebraska.

The herd includes AHCA-registered cows, multiple bulls, and crossbred animals, giving the program range across breeding stock, show prospects, and market animals. All cattle are halter trained, kept current on vaccinations and worming, and tested negative for BVD. The farm participates regularly in regional highland shows and has consigned animals to the Heartland Highland Cattle auction circuit.

A long-standing commitment to mentoring new breeders and junior exhibitors is a defining thread of the operation. Sue often works directly with first-time owners and young showmen, and the farm has welcomed visitors to walk the pastures for many years.
