Absaroka Alpaca Ranch

Absaroka Alpaca Ranch raises alpacas in Brighton, Colorado, situated along the northern Front Range about 25 miles northeast of Denver. Scott and Mary Ann Mahaffey founded the ranch officially in 2010, though their introduction to the animals goes back to 2003.

The program focuses on show-quality alpacas bred for both halter competition and fiber production. The ranch has participated in events such as the Great Western Alpaca Show and the National Western Stock Show, where its animals have earned ribbons in halter classes and its fleeces have placed in competitive fleece shows. Mary Ann has also been active on the organizational side of the AOA-certified show circuit, completing Alpaca Owners Association show superintendent training.
