Building a Dream, One Step at a Time

Roots:
Gracious Plenty Farms is more than a farm—it’s a dream that’s still being built.

Long before our family owned this land, it was farmed by Albert and Irma Cusigh. For generations, this beautiful property has been a place where the land was cared for, animals were raised, and country living was a way of life.

When my parents purchased the farm, they knew it was something special. They wanted to protect its beauty and preserve it for generations to come. Today, 75 of our 80 acres are permanently protected through a conservation easement, helping ensure that this land will remain farmland for the future.

A New Beginning:

My husband, Dale, and I spent years building our lives in North Carolina. But when it became clear that my parents needed us closer to home, we made the decision to return to Michigan.

What we didn’t expect was that coming home would lead us to an entirely new dream.

We had never owned a farm before. In fact, we are first-generation farmers, learning as we go and figuring things out one day at a time. We came back with a love for animals, a passion for country living, and a dream of building something meaningful for our family.

That dream became Gracious Plenty Farms.

Building a Dream:

Today, Gracious Plenty Farms is still growing and changing every day.

What started as a dream has become a farm filled with horses, cattle, sheep, goats, chickens, emus, and more. We are building barns, caring for animals, improving the land, and learning what it truly means to be responsible for a farm.

We’re building our home here, too—a place where our family can gather, where our grandchildren can grow up surrounded by animals and open spaces, and where we can create memories that last for generations.

Still Growing:

We are still building.

We are still learning.

And we are still dreaming.

Our vision for Gracious Plenty Farms continues to grow. We hope to share our love of horses, animals, farming, and country living with others through horse boarding, horse leasing, farm products, locally raised beef, fresh eggs, maple syrup, and other products from our farm.

But more than anything, we hope Gracious Plenty Farms will always remain a place where family, faith, hard work, and a love for the land come together.

Because every great farm starts with a dream.

And ours is just getting started.
