Yellow-Headed Box Turtle
Cuora aurocapitata
The yellow-headed box turtle is an egg-laying turtle from Anhui, China. Its bright yellow head contrasts with a dark oval hard shell and hinged plastron. It uses freshwater and streamside cover, and specialist conservation collections provide clean aquatic space, sheltered land and nesting substrate.
Cuora aurocapitata is distinct from other yellow-headed Cuora species. It is in CITES Appendix II with a zero export quota for wild specimens for commercial purposes, making documented captive origin especially important.
Colors: Wild Type
