Yellow-fronted Canary
Crithagra mozambica
The yellow-fronted canary is an African finch often called the green singer in aviculture. Its yellow face and underparts contrast with a greenish, streaked back, and males are known for their song. Provide flight space, a varied finch diet, greens and suitable breeding foods and calcium. It lays eggs in an open cup nest. Breeding birds can become territorial, so monitor compatibility rather than assuming a mixed aviary will remain peaceful.
