Yellow-Footed Tortoise
Chelonoidis denticulatus
The yellow-footed tortoise is an egg-laying forest tortoise of tropical South America. Yellow or orange scales on the head and forelimbs contrast with a dark high-domed shell whose scutes have lighter centers. It is kept by specialist tortoise and zoological collections in spacious terrestrial accommodation with sheltered retreats and suitable nesting ground.
Chelonoidis denticulatus is distinct from the red-footed tortoise despite similar regional names. Its forest origin and documented legal source matter when planning captive care.
