Wide-horned Hissing Cockroach
Gromphadorhina oblongonota
The wide-horned hissing cockroach is a large, wingless Madagascan roach with a broad body and prominent male pronotal horns. Females retain the egg case and give birth to live nymphs. Provide warm, ventilated housing, textured climbing shelters, drinking moisture and a varied diet. These roaches climb smooth surfaces, so use secure containment. Maintain reliable breeding provenance: mixed hissing-roach stocks can blur species identity.
