White-Lipped Tree Viper
Trimeresurus albolabris
The white-lipped tree viper is a live-bearing climbing pit viper of mainland Southeast Asia and southern China. Adults are usually green with a pale lip and a reddish tail, while males may have a pale or reddish side stripe. Specialist venomous-snake facilities provide secure arboreal accommodation with stable supports and shelter.
Its venom is medically significant, and dangerous-animal permits can apply. Trimeresurus albolabris is distinct from island and Indian species formerly grouped under the same common name.
