Western Indian Leopard Gecko
Eublepharis fuscus
The western Indian leopard gecko inhabits rocky scrub and other seasonally dry habitats in western India. Its darker brown body and blotched pattern differ from the familiar yellow captive morphs of Eublepharis macularius; it has movable eyelids, clawed toes and a thick tail. Specialist breeders keep and reproduce it.
Terrestrial housing provides multiple ground shelters, controlled warm and cooler areas, drinking water and a moist refuge rather than uniformly dry conditions. It eats insects and lays eggs. Confirm the scientific name when acquiring animals.
