Teratoscincus roborowskii
Teratoscincus roborowskii
Teratoscincus roborowskii is a ground-dwelling gecko of China's Turpan region, where it uses arid sandy and gravelly habitats. Large eyes, broad smooth scales, fringed toes and a substantial tail suit its nocturnal life. Specialist gecko keepers maintain and breed it. Housing provides deep sand-based substrate for burrowing, several shelters and controlled warm and cooler areas, with drinking water and appropriately sized insects.
Females lay eggs. Frog-eyed and wonder gecko names cover several species, so scientific identity and lineage give clearer records.
