Mixed Breed
Mixed breed sulfur-crested cockatoo is an informal label for a Cacatua galerita type bird with uncertain ancestry, possible hybrid background, or mixed subspecies heritage. Parrots are not organized into breeds in the way domestic mammals are, so the term often comes from rescue, resale, or owner history. Typical sulfur-crested cockatoos are white, long-crested, yellow under the wings and tail, and highly vocal, but mixed-background birds may still look very close to the species.
For adopters, the important questions are age, health, behavior, legal source, and whether the bird can be managed safely for decades. A mixed-label cockatoo still needs serious space, enrichment, chewable materials, regular bathing, and skilled handling that respects a powerful beak. Diet is usually based on quality formulated food with vegetables, greens, and measured treats rather than sunflower-heavy seed. Unless ancestry is well documented, it is better suited to companionship or sanctuary placement than identity-based breeding.
