White-eyed Crocodile Skink
Tribolonotus novaeguineae
The white-eyed crocodile skink inhabits damp forest-floor habitats in New Guinea. It has a dark armored body with four prominent rows of keeled scales and a pale eye surround, rather than the bright orange eye ring of the red-eyed crocodile skink. It is kept by specialist skink breeders.
Housing provides humid leaf litter, secure ground shelters and clean accessible water, with a controlled temperature gradient and protection from overheating. It eats small invertebrates and lays eggs. Its scientific name is Tribolonotus novaeguineae.
