Solomon Island Ground Boa
Candoia paulsoni
The Solomon Island ground boa is a live-bearing boa of the Solomon Islands and neighboring island groups. Adults have a stout, often brown or gray patterned body, a distinct angular head and a shorter, more terrestrial build than tree boas. It occurs in specialist boa collections, where regional identity and provenance help separate the recognized island forms.
Secure housing provides generous floor space, sheltered retreats and a controlled thermal gradient. Candoia paulsoni is distinct from Candoia carinata and Candoia bibroni.
