Smooth Knob-tailed Gecko
Nephrurus levis
The smooth knob-tailed gecko is a nocturnal, egg-laying Australian gecko with large eyes and a flattened tail ending in a small knob. It lives in arid sandy country and uses burrows for shelter. Captive animals need floor space, suitable digging substrate, secure retreats and a localized humid hide without making the whole enclosure wet. Feed appropriately sized supplemented insects. Levis, pilbarensis and occidentalis trade forms belong within this species.
