Setaro's Dwarf Chameleon
Bradypodion setaroi
Setaro's dwarf chameleon is a small chameleon of coastal dune forests in northeastern South Africa. Its green or brownish body has a modest casque, throat lobes, grasping feet and a curled prehensile tail. It has been kept and bred in semi-natural conditions in South Africa, but is a delicate specialist species.
Captive management should follow an experienced program that accommodates its forest habitat and climbing behavior rather than generic pet advice. It eats small invertebrates and gives birth to live young. International trade falls under CITES Appendix II.
