Rhinoceros Viper
Bitis nasicornis
The rhinoceros viper is a live-bearing forest viper of western and central Africa. Its stout body bears an intricate blue-green, brown and black geometric pattern, and several upright nasal scales form the characteristic horns. It is distinct from both Gaboon viper species. Specialist venomous-snake facilities provide secure terrestrial accommodation with shelter and carefully controlled conditions.
Its venom is medically significant, and possession can require dangerous-animal licensing. Captive care belongs with experienced venomous-snake professionals.
