Reunion Day Gecko
Phelsuma borbonica
The Reunion day gecko inhabits forests and woodland edges on Reunion; another form occurs on the Agalega islands. Adults vary from green to turquoise, with red speckling that can form irregular bands. It is kept and bred in specialist day-gecko collections. Housing uses planted climbing space, ventilation, bright light, drinking droplets and insect and suitable fruit-based foods, with seasonal temperature changes suited to its origin.
Females lay eggs that adhere to protected surfaces. Keep locality records, as populations differ in appearance.
