Pterois volitans
The red lionfish is a scorpionfish of Pacific and eastern Indian Ocean reefs and lagoons, from southern Japan and Australia east to French Polynesia, and it is now established in the western Atlantic. It has red-brown and white stripes, long separated dorsal spines and large fanlike pectoral fins.
