Philippine Crocodile
Crocodylus mindorensis
The Philippine crocodile is a comparatively small freshwater crocodilian endemic to the Philippines. Adults have a broad snout and heavy bony armor, with darker brown coloration than the golden juveniles. Zoo and conservation programs maintain it in secure aquatic facilities with dry banks and nesting space.
Females lay eggs, and adults still require professional dangerous-animal management despite the species' size. It is listed under the US ESA and CITES Appendix I; possession and international movement require legal documentation. Crocodilian possession permits can apply.
