Phelsuma kochi
Phelsuma kochi
Phelsuma kochi is a large day gecko from western and northwestern Madagascar. Its green body has small red-orange spots and pale speckled flanks; the strong red facial marking seen in related species is absent or reduced. It is kept and bred in specialist day-gecko collections. A spacious planted vertical enclosure uses climbing stems, shelters, bright light, UVB, ventilation and drinking droplets, with insect and suitable fruit-based foods.
Females lay unattached eggs in hidden sites. Formerly Phelsuma madagascariensis kochi, it is now a separate species.
