Parker's Day Gecko
Phelsuma parkeri
Parker's day gecko is a slender green gecko from Pemba Island in Tanzania, where it uses palms, gardens and plantations. It lacks the red markings of many related species and has a gray line between the nostril and eye. It is kept and bred in specialist day-gecko collections.
A ventilated planted vertical enclosure needs climbing stems, bright light, suitable basking and shaded areas, insect and fruit-based foods, and drinking droplets. Females lay unattached eggs in sheltered vegetation. International trade is regulated under CITES Appendix II.
