Painted Dwarf Gecko
Lygodactylus picturatus
The painted dwarf gecko climbs trees and other vegetation in eastern African coastal areas. Adult males have a vivid yellow head, darker throat and bluish-gray striped body, while females are generally brown and more subdued. It is kept and bred in specialist dwarf-gecko collections.
A secure planted enclosure provides branches, bark retreats, ventilation, bright lighting with UVB and a controlled warm area. Food includes small insects, with drinking droplets supplied regularly. Females lay eggs in protected places such as hollow stems.
