Omani Spiny-Tailed Lizard
Uromastyx thomasi
The Omani spiny-tailed lizard lives on stony and sandy plains in coastal Oman, sheltering in burrows. Its compact body and unusually short broad spiny tail distinguish it from many other Uromastyx. It has been bred through a coordinated captive studbook. Housing provides ground space, strong basking heat, bright lighting and UVB, with shaded retreats and burrowing opportunities; its diet is primarily plants.
Females lay eggs. International trade is regulated under CITES Appendix II, and reliable identity and origin records matter.
