Unknown Breed
Unknown breed lovebird is best read as an incomplete identification, not as a recognized category. In the context of Agapornis roseicollis, the rosy-faced or peach-faced lovebird, it may mean the seller or rescue did not know the mutation, parentage, or whether another lovebird species was involved. Color names such as albino, aqua, blue, lutino, creamino, American yellow, Dutch pied, and orange face can be useful, but some combinations are hard to interpret without breeder records.
Care decisions should start with species confirmation, health, and temperament. Rosy-faced lovebirds are compact parrots with strong pair bonds, a busy chewing habit, and plenty of attitude for their size. Provide space for movement, supervised out-of-cage time where possible, and a varied diet rather than an all-seed bowl. If breeding is considered, DNA sexing may be useful because the sexes look similar, and unknown-background birds should not be presented as proven pure lines.
