Long-Nosed Tree Snake
Ahaetulla nasuta
The long-nosed tree snake is a live-bearing vine snake currently associated primarily with Sri Lanka following revisions of the Ahaetulla nasuta complex. It has an extremely slender body, pointed projecting snout and horizontally shaped pupils, often with green wild coloration. Specialist housing needs secure climbing supports, leafy cover and a controlled climate. It is rear-fanged. Many older Indian records under this name now belong to other Ahaetulla species.
