Lined Flat-Tail Gecko
Uroplatus lineatus
The lined flat-tail gecko inhabits forests and bamboo stands in eastern Madagascar. Its long narrow body, fine lengthwise stripes and comparatively narrow flattened tail differ from the broad bark-mimicking leaf-tailed geckos. It is bred by specialist gecko keepers. A tall planted enclosure uses vertical branches or bamboo, long leaves for resting and drinking, ventilation and regular misting, with insect prey.
Females lay eggs, often in elevated sheltered sites rather than on the forest floor. Avoid excessive heat and preserve ample climbing space.
