Unclassified Morph
An unclassified morph leachianus gecko is a Rhacodactylus leachianus whose species is known, but whose morph, locality, or breeder-line identity has not been assigned with confidence. The animal may show traits associated with mainland, Isle of Pines, Nuu Ana, Mt Koghis, or other locality language, yet appearance alone is not enough to prove ancestry. This label keeps uncertainty visible.
Care should be based on the needs of a heavy-bodied, arboreal New Caledonian gecko rather than the unresolved label. Keepers provide strong climbing surfaces, hiding options, humid but ventilated enclosures, and a suitable fruit-based prepared diet with insect supplementation where used. Breeders should avoid selling unclassified animals as pure locality stock, and should preserve any source notes, photos of parents, or hatch records that came with the gecko.
