Crossbred

A crossbred king quail is a domestic king quail, also called Chinese painted quail, with parentage from more than one color line or informal breeding group. In this species, crossbred usually refers to variety background rather than a large difference in body type. The birds remain tiny ground-dwelling quail with rounded bodies, quick movement, and color outcomes that may include wild-type, silver, cinnamon, pied, pearl, white, or blended markings.

Keepers use crossbred king quail in aviaries, small breeding groups, and educational collections where variety purity is less important than health and compatibility. Care should focus on secure low housing, clean dry footing, fine feed, shallow water, and places to hide from larger birds or dominant pen mates. Breeders who want predictable chick colors need to track pairings, while casual keepers can simply record the bird as crossbred and avoid presenting it as a fixed variety.

Colors: Blue‑Face, Blue‑Faced Pearl, Cinnamon, Cinnamon Pearl, Fawn, Golden Pearl, Ivory, Pearl, Pied, Red‑Breasted, Rusty Nail, Silver, Silver Pearl, Slate, Smoky, Splash, Tuxedo, White, Wild‑Type
