Humongous Isopod
Porcellio hoffmannseggii
The humongous isopod is a very large terrestrial woodlouse from the Iberian region, with an elongated, flattened body and long rear appendages. It needs generous floor space and shelters, especially in breeding colonies. Provide substantial ventilation, a mostly dry surface with a reliable moist refuge, leaf litter, decayed wood, calcium and appropriate supplemental food. Avoid crowding and monitor territorial interactions. Females carry offspring in a brood pouch before releasing young.
