Hainan Cave Gecko
Goniurosaurus hainanensis
The Hainan cave gecko is a nocturnal, egg-laying gecko from southeastern Hainan, China. Dark skin, pale transverse bands and reddish eyes give it its characteristic appearance. It uses forest-floor cover, rocks and low climbing opportunities. Provide cool to moderate conditions, moist sheltered retreats, ventilation and textured surfaces, with a temperature gradient that avoids overheating. Feed varied supplemented insects and keep provenance separate from other cave gecko species.
