Guatemalan Tiger Rump Tarantula
Davus pentaloris
The Guatemalan tiger rump tarantula is a small terrestrial spider with an orange abdomen marked by dark tiger-like stripes. It lays eggs in a silk sac. Provide burrowing substrate, a stable hide, ventilation and fresh water, without keeping the entire surface wet. It is quick to startle and can shed irritating hairs, so observation is preferable to handling. Feed appropriately sized insects and protect it from excessive fall height.
