Eastern Green Mamba
Dendroaspis angusticeps
The eastern green mamba is an egg-laying arboreal elapid of eastern and southern African coastal woodland and forest. Adults are slender and predominantly bright green with an elongated head. It is kept in specialist zoological collections requiring secure containment and trained management. Housing needs supported climbing routes, concealed retreats and a controlled tropical thermal gradient. Its venom can cause life-threatening illness and dangerous-animal permits can apply.
