Unclassified Morph

An unclassified-morph green iguana is a green iguana whose color or genetic background has not been assigned to a recognized captive morph. Young iguanas can change color as they mature, and lighting, stress, breeding season, and health can all affect appearance. Without parent records, it is safer to use an unclassified label than to guess at blue, red, albino, axanthic, or other morph names.

Care requirements remain those of a large tropical herbivorous lizard. The animal needs space to climb, high UVB exposure, proper heat gradients, humidity, and fresh leafy food prepared for an iguana rather than a general reptile diet. Breeders should keep unclassified animals out of morph-specific projects unless later documentation clarifies their genetics. For rescues and sanctuaries, the label helps set honest expectations while attention stays on enclosure scale, behavior, and long-term welfare.

Colors: Albino, Axanthic, Blue, Normal/Wild Type, Orange, Red, Snow, Yellow
