Green Grass Lizard
Takydromus smaragdinus
The green grass lizard is a slender, egg-laying lizard from Japan's Ryukyu islands. Its green body, very long tail and narrow clawed feet distinguish it from geckos; females and regional animals may show more brown coloring. Specialist keepers provide secure enclosures with fine climbing stems, dense cover, small insect prey and a controlled light and temperature gradient.
Space for the entire tail and nesting substrate are useful. It is Takydromus smaragdinus, separate from the striped Asian grass lizard and Sakishima grass lizard.
