Golfodulcean Poison Frog
Phyllobates vittatus
The Golfodulcean poison frog is a Costa Rican poison frog with a dark body and bright orange-red stripes along the sides. It lays eggs on sheltered surfaces, and males carry hatched tadpoles to water. Captive animals use floor-level leaf litter and low climbing cover. Provide humid planted housing, ventilation and moderate temperatures with protection from heat, and feed small supplemented insects. Keep tadpole rearing water separate from the terrestrial adult habitat.
