Golden Gecko
Gekko badenii
The golden gecko is a nocturnal, egg-laying gecko from Vietnam's forested regions. Yellow-gold to brown coloring, a flattened body and broad adhesive toe pads distinguish it from spotted leopard geckos. Specialist hobby keepers provide climbing surfaces, leafy cover, drinking droplets and controlled humidity with ventilation in a secure enclosure.
It feeds on invertebrates and may take soft fruit foods. Females attach eggs to sheltered surfaces. Its delicate skin and readiness to escape favor observation and gentle enclosure management over frequent handling.
