Golden Flying Snake
Chrysopelea ornata
The golden flying snake is an egg-laying Asian tree snake that can flatten its body and glide between elevated points. Wild adults have a fine black-edged green or yellow pattern, sometimes with reddish dorsal markings. Specialist collections maintain this active arboreal species. Housing needs secure height, supported climbing routes, foliage-like cover, water and a controlled thermal gradient. It is rear-fanged, so direct handling and bite exposure should be avoided.
