Unknown Breed
An unknown breed Goffin's cockatoo is best read as a Goffin's cockatoo or Goffin-like cockatoo whose background has not been documented. Goffin's cockatoos are a species, not a breed category, and are also called Tanimbar corellas. They are small, mostly white cockatoos with a short crest, strong beak, and pale salmon or pink tones that may show around the face or under the wing. The unknown label may cover missing hatch records, uncertain parentage, or a bird surrendered without reliable paperwork.
Management should start with confirming species identity as far as possible and assessing the individual bird. Avian veterinary screening, DNA sexing if needed, microchip or band checks, and a quarantine period are useful for rescues and new owners. Housing must allow climbing, wing movement, and heavy chewing, while enrichment helps reduce screaming and feather-damaging behavior. Birds with unknown ancestry should be kept out of conservation breeding programs, but they still require the same long-term planning as any cockatoo.
