Crossbred

A crossbred Goffin's cockatoo is not a recognized breed in the way the term is used for dogs or livestock. Goffin's cockatoos, also called Tanimbar corellas, are small white cockatoos from the Tanimbar Islands of Indonesia, with a short crest, pale facial flush, and the lively, investigative behavior typical of Cacatua parrots. A crossbred bird may have Goffin's ancestry mixed with another cockatoo species, or the label may simply reflect uncertain parentage in captivity.

Care should be planned around the bird's cockatoo needs rather than the label. These parrots require spacious housing, daily out-of-cage exercise, chewing material, foraging work, and a balanced diet that avoids seed-only feeding. Hybrid or crossbred birds are not appropriate for conservation breeding, and any transfer should include whatever hatch records, band information, or veterinary history exists. Long lifespan, noise, dust, and strong social attachment make rescue placement and buyer screening especially important.
