Giant Canyon Isopod
Porcellio dilatatus
The giant canyon isopod is a broad-bodied terrestrial woodlouse that is commonly cultured for bioactive enclosures. Its brown-gray body is wider and more flattened than many smaller cleanup isopods. Provide deep leaf litter and decayed wood, a calcium source, ventilation and a moist refuge alongside drier areas. Avoid making the whole substrate saturated. Females carry developing young in a brood pouch before releasing them into the colony.
