Oustalet's Chameleon
Furcifer oustaleti
Oustalet's chameleon is a large, egg-laying chameleon of Madagascar, found in woodland, scrub and altered habitats. Adults have a high rounded casque, a ridged back and a long prehensile tail; males are often brown-gray and females can show greener colors. Specialist keepers need a substantial planted climbing enclosure with ventilation, drinking opportunities and controlled light and warmth. Females require a nesting site. It is Furcifer oustaleti, distinct from the massive, differently shaped Parson's chameleon.
